Lewisburg-Velljean Hudkins Bragg, 90, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at her home in Lewisburg.
Born at Carl, WV on Apr. 26, 1926, she was a daughter of the late James Brennan Hudkins and Anna Margaret O’Dell Hudkins and was the last surviving member of her family.
She was a homemaker, a 40 year member of Lewisburg United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women and a member of Eastern Star. She was a former volunteer at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center and an in-home caregiver to many elderly in the Lewisburg area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard R. Bragg in 1988.
Survivors include: daughter, Brenda Jones (Larry) of Lewisburg; sons, Ronnie Bragg of Richwood, Gary Bragg (Drema) of Rainelle and Randy Bragg (MaryAnn) of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Gray Jones (Cindy) of Providence, RI, Eric Jones (Sharmila) of Charleston, WV, Emmalee Widener (Matt) of Baltimore, MD, Jason Bragg (Joann) of Charleston, WV, Jill Lostetter (Scott) of Beckley, Stephanie Bragg and Ryan Bragg both of New York City, NY; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30, at Lewisburg United Methodist Church, with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.
The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory be made to Peyton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
