Kent, OH-Darrell W. Bland, “Big D” “Jinx”, 68, passed away Monday, Aug. 29, 2016.
Darrell was a father, a grandfather, a friend, a brother, a coach and Santa Claus.
Darrell was born in Hinton, on Nov. 11, 1947, to the late John and Irene Bland.
He was an active member of EAAA and coached football and basketball in Ellet for over 35 years, and he was a retired member of the Brothers Motorcycle Club of Akron.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jacob Baumgartner and mother-in-law, Sue Harrison.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Theresa A. Bland; daughters, Jennifer (Mike) Carter and Denise (Travis) Drenning; son, David Bland; grandchildren, Courtney, Matthew, Cameron, Chloe, Caitlyn, Jared, Jordanne and Josh; great-grandson, Braden; and brother, David Bland.
Family and friends called on Sunday, Sept. 4, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron.
