Ronceverte-Robert Wetzel McNeil, Sr., 77, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea.
Born at Union on June 26, 1939, he was a son of the late Wetzel Herman McNeil and Nellie Barley McNeil.
Bob was owner/operator of Bob’s Barber Shop in Ronceverte for 47 years. He was known as “Mountain Man” to all of his hunting buddies. He loved his grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lewis McNeil.
Survivors include his wife, Martha White McNeil; daughter, Mary Ann Bostic and husband Jeff of Pickaway; son, Robert W. McNeil, Jr. and wife Donette of Clifftop; grandchildren, Daniel Bostic of Pickaway, Matthew Bostic of Union and Maggie Grace Bostic of Pickaway; and sister, June Hazelton and husband Bob of Radford, VA.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg where Rev. Ben Gurley officiated. Burial followed in Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Organ Cave.
The family received friends Tuesday evening, Sept. 27 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to Salem Presbyterian Church, c/o 2289 Seneca Trail South, Ronceverte, WV 24970 or Peyton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
