Ronceverte-Trudy L. Reed, 64, passed away Thursday June 6, 2019, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, following a sudden illness.

Trudy was born May 8, 1955, in Ronceverte, the daughter of the late Margaret E. Wetzel Lacey.

She was a member of the Caldwell Presbyterian Church and attended the Ronceverte Presbyterian Church. Trudy was a Preschool teacher and a dedicated story hour teacher known as Miss Trudy in Lewisburg and Ronceverte. She loved and was an avid photographer and a loyal WVU Mountaineer and Washington Redskins football fan. One of the most important things in her life: she was the proud grandmother of Laken and Jonah.

Surviving are her husband, L. E. Reed; daughter, Shana E. Bennett and husband Jody of Caldwell; son, Scott Reed and wife Danielle of Ronceverte; grandchildren, Laken Bennett and Jonah Reed; sisters, Katie Howard and husband Richard of Buffalo, WV, and Sheila Tate and husband Price of White Sulphur Springs; special (thought of as) grandchildren, Chase and Avery McCoy and Rhett Baker; special friends, Ginny Groves and Miss Boo Bowden, as well as several special nieces and nephews and their children.

A celebration of Trudy’s life was held Thursday, June 13, at the Ronceverte Presbyterian Church where Rev. Stephen Baldwin, Rev. Greg Scott and Rev. Mike Teubert officiated.

The Reed family received family and friends Thursday at the church before the service.

In honoring Trudy’s wishes she will be cremated.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte is in charge of arrangements. Please send online condolences by visiting www.WallaceandWallaceFH.com
