The Town of Alderson and Alderson Main Street, in collaboration with Sunset Berry Farm, announce the much anticipated Strawberry Festival will be held on Saturday, May 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Town of Alderson and at Sunset Berry Farm.
Who can resist the taste of strawberries after a long winter? And music makes everything nicer. 2nd Block Rock will be playing at the Gazebo in Alumni Park from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and the Goodson Boys from noon to 2 p.m. Strolling minstrel Liselotte Heil will move through the crowds to play and sing.
Alderson Main Street will be selling their tasty strawberry lemonade and dozens of other vendors will have arts, crafts, and food for purchase. Nonprofit vendors will be raising money for good causes and there will be free or low-cost children’s activities. The Historic 1896 C&O Depot will be open for touring and Alderson shops such as the Artisan’s Gallery, Sam’s Vintage Tools, and Alderson’s Store will be open. Fruits of Labor Café will be offering a special menu, Ginny’s Good Bites will be having a pop-up day, and the Big Wheel will be open as well.
New this year will be a car and motorcycle cruise in. Once you have enjoyed all the fun in Alderson, travel up to Sunset Berry Farm for more including pick-your-own strawberries and other activities.
Main Street thanks those sponsors who chose to support the Alderson Strawberry Festival when they purchased their AMS memberships this year. They appreciate Don and Marcia Sutherland, Doris Kasley, Fruits of Labor, Inc., Hugh Harris Insurance Agency, Sue Ellen Grizzard, and City National Bank.
