White Sulphur Springs to host annual Dandelion Festival over Memorial Day Weekend

White Sulphur Springs will welcome visitors for the annual Dandelion Festival, set for Memorial Day weekend, May 23–25. The three-day event will feature live music, contests, family activities, and tributes to veterans, drawing attendees from across the region.

Festivities begin Friday, May 23, with an Art Show, Wine & Cheese reception at the White Sulphur Springs Library from 6 to 8 p.m., featuring live music by Terrance Zimmerman and Friend. The evening continues with Dinner and Live Music from 7 to 9 p.m. at Butler Hall at St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

Saturday, May 24, kicks off early with the Dream Chaser 5K at 7:30 a.m. on the Schoolhouse Hotel lawn. Activities at the WSS National Fish Hatchery include a Children’s Fishing Derby at 8:30 a.m., followed by the “Walkin’ & Talkin’ Like a Chicken” Contest at 9:30 a.m. and a Turkey Calling Contest at 9:45 a.m., both offering cash prizes.

The Kids Zone, located at Old Mill Park, will be open from 10 a.m. until dusk with inflatables and family-friendly activities. An Art Show at the WSS Library opens to the public at 11 a.m.

Live entertainment begins at 1 p.m. on the main stage with a performance by Hillbilly Biscuits, followed by events throughout the day, including:

-Cruize In on Main Street from 2:30 to 5 p.m.

-Live music at 2:30 p.m. on the Max on Main Restaurant patio

-R/C Car Race on Main Street at 3:30 p.m. (prize awarded)

-Main stage performances by Hello June at 5:30 p.m. and Alabaster Boxer at 7:30 p.m.

-The Dandy Legs Contest at 7 p.m.

-A fireworks show at dark, visible from the main stage area

Sunday, May 25, begins at noon with food vendors on Main Street and Kids Zone inflatables at Old Mill Park until 4 p.m. A Veterans Luncheon, catered by The Schoolhouse Hotel, will be held at Paisley Park from 12 to 1:30 p.m., followed by a Veterans Memorial Service on the main stage from 2 to 3 p.m., featuring a performance by the Greenbrier East High School Jazz Ensemble.

Music continues from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on the main stage with Midland Trail Band performing a Gospel Sing. The festival concludes with the annual parade, beginning at 5 p.m. on Main Street. Parade line-up starts at 4 p.m. on Ingleside Avenue.

The Dandelion Festival celebrates the culture and community spirit of White Sulphur Springs, welcoming families, veterans, and visitors to enjoy a weekend of small-town charm and festivity.
