Ralph Lee Harbert, Jr.

Lewisburg- Ralph Lee Harbert, Jr. 60, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Charleston Area Medical Center, General Division.

He was born July 22, 1953, in Jacksonville, NC, to the late Ralph Lee and Anne Lee Jennings Harbert.

Ralph was the owner of nine H&R Block Franchises in West Virginia, was a member of the Church of Christ of Lewisburg, a Lewisburg Lions Club member, and was president of the WV Public Accountant Association. He graduated Glenville State College in 1975 as a music major. He managed Radio Stations in Buckhannon, WV and Williamson, NC. He was a music teacher in Greenbrier County, teaching from 1989 until 1999.

Surviving Ralph are: his wife, Phyllis Marie Barnhart Harbert of Lewisburg; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Harbert of Victorville, CA; sons, John Michael Harbert of Beckley and David Lee Harbert of Huntington; grandchildren, Jainie Baker, Gracie Marie Harbert and Simon Patrick Harbert all of Ronceverte; brothers, William “Rusty” Harbert of Vienna and James Edward “Eddie” Harbert of Huntington.

A funeral service was held Monday evening, Feb. 24 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, where Mr. Brandon Hamilton officiated.

Visitation was that evening before the service at the funeral home.

A second funeral service was held Tuesday, Feb. 25 at the Lost Creek United Methodist Church, Lost Creek, where Rev. Karen Brown officiated.

Friends called before the service at the church.

Burial was in the 7th Day Baptist Church Cemetery at Lost Creek, WV.
