Progressive CEOS met on Aug. 12, 2025, at the residence of Lynn Humphreys. Members attending were Patty Gray, Lynn Humphreys, Sally Holliday, and Betty Jo McNeel. President Patty Gray called the meeting to order with a meditation about the West Virginia Sate Fair: “Reap What You Sow.”
Minutes were read by Secretary Betty Jo McNeel and approved as read.
Treasurer’s report was given by Lynn Humphreys with a balance of $253.38. A motion was given by Lynn Humphreys and seconded by Sally Holliday to donate $50 to West Virginia Helping Hands.
Volunteer hours were collected and will be submitted to the county chairman.
Patty Gray presented an interesting Health Motivator talk about Sesame Allergy Sesame is the ninth most common allergen. Sesame allergies can be mild, moderate or severe and allergic reactions can range from hives to anaphylaxis. Be sesame-safe and read all product labels before consumption of a new food product.
Reorganization information was filled out for the coming year. Officers are Patty Gray, president; Betty Jo McNeel, secretary; Lynn Humphreys, treasurer. Committee chairpersons will remain the same as 2025.
Fall Leadership Day will be Tuesday, Sept. 16 at Renick Community Center. Registration 9:30 a.m., program at 10 a.m., “Securing Your Senior Years.” Sally Holliday and Betty Jo McNeel will bring door prizes and Lynn Humphreys will bring a breakfast item.
The next meeting of Progressive CEOS will be Sept. 9 at the residence of Lynn Humphreys. Lynn will present the program “Houseplant Jungle.”
After the meeting was adjourned, delicious refreshments were served by the hostess Sally Holliday.
