The Greenbrier Community School held an open house and ribbon cutting on Wednesday, Aug. 13, to celebrate a new expansion of their middle school classrooms. GCS is located in the renovated Bolling School on Oak Street in downtown Lewisburg and offers classes from 18 months to 8th grade.
Head of School Rece Nester spoke briefly before the crowd before cutting the ribbon, stating, “Middle school is a turning point. It’s a bridge between childhood and young adulthood, the years when students ask big questions, try on new identities, take risks, and discover what they care about. We built this program because our students deserve a place designed for this exact season of their life. It means the world to see students, families, alumni, neighbors, and community partners all here together. Thank you for joining us for this grand opening.”
