Ronceverte-Pastor Samuel Edward Wilmer, 89, joined the Lord in heaven Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at the Payton Hospice House in Fairlea.

Born Jan. 18, 1926, in Ronceverte, Pastor Wilmer was the son of the late Oscar and Mazy Wilmer

He was proceeded in death by: his parents; brothers, James Wilmer, Charles Wilmer and Joyce Wilmer; sister, Shelby Jean Daniels; daughter, Regina Wilmer; and sons, Roger Wilmer and Tommy Wilmer.

A Pastor of Christ Temple Church of Ronceverte, he loved and served God for many years and has fellowship with many churches. He loved gospel music. A true man of God.

He was a World War II Veteran, and after the war was employed by a coal company as a coal driver. He then went to work at the rock quarry in Fairlea. He then ventured to The Greenbrier Hotel to work as a houseman. When he retired he became a Pastor. He lived a long, full, blessed life.

Cherishing his memory are: sons, Stanley Wilmer of Galloway, NJ, Nathan and Jacqueline Wilmer of Pittsburgh, PA, and Timothy Wilmer of Charleston, WV; grandchildren, Stanley Brown Jr., Nathan Wilmer Jr., Natalie Wilmer, Daniel Hoke and Deedee Wilmer; and great-grandchild, Benjamin Brown.

He leaves a great legacy of Kingdom work.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 24, at the House of Prayer Church, 814 Tuckahoe Road, White Sulphur Springs. Burial followed in the Lincoln Cemetery at Ronceverte.

Friends called at the church before the service.
