Nancy Ellen Czajka

Lewisburg-Nancy Ellen Czajka, “Aunt Nanny,” 60, formerly of Cocoa Beach, FL, finally found her wings on Monday, May 25, 2015.

She passed away peacefully at Charleston Memorial Hospital surrounded by those who loved her. Nancy was courageous and beautiful until the very end. She was a loving Sister, Aunt and Friend to all who knew her. Nancy will be missed dearly but will never be forgotten. Her loving and generous nature was an inspiration to everyone.

Nancy was born June 21, 1955, in Middletown, CT. Shortly after her arrival, her family moved to Cocoa Beach, FL. She always considered Florida, especially her beloved “Leon Lane,” her home.

Nancy graduated from Cocoa Beach High School in 1972 and shortly after moved to Atlanta, GA, where she began a successful career in the restaurant industry. She was manager of “Frankie’s” Restaurant in Cape Canaveral, FL, for many years. Nancy also worked as a real estate agent with Stenstrom Real Estate in Lake Mary, FL. She took early retirement and moved to West Virginia in 1999 to be with her sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Stenstrorn Czajka and Edward Peter Czajka; brother, Peter Czajka; and husband, Stephen Ruesswig.

Survivors include: significant other, Kirby Ramsey of Lewisburg; sisters, Elizabeth Clack and Lomar of Merritt Island, FL, Mary Kay Odio and Cesar of Miami, FL, Cara Roczniak of Lewisburg, and Jackie Golden of Mills River, NC; brother David Czajka and Tracy of Merritt Island FL.

Nancy always thought of her nieces and nephews as her own children. They include Olivia Clack of New York City, NY, Emily Odin and Laura Czajka-Martyna both of Charlotte, NC, and Jessica Roczniak-Grist of Lewisburg; nephews, Ryan Clack, Cody Czajka, Ethan Czajka, and Zachary Czajka all of Merritt Island, FL, Eddie Odio arid Jacob Roczniak both of Boston, MA; and great-nephew, Thomas Moses Grist.

Nancy also leaves behind her special companion, “Annie” and a network of friends spanning coast to coast.

In lieu of flowers, and to honor Nancy’s love of animals, the family requests donations made in Nancy’s honor to the Greenhrier County Humane Society, 151 Holliday Lane, Lewisburg, WV 24901 or Central Brevard Humane Society, 1020 Cox Road, Cocoa Beach, FL 32926.

Nancy was of the Catholic Faith. Her final prayer was to be with her mother and brother in Heaven. Her family asks for prayers so that she may finally experience the peace she could never find on earth.

Nancy’s final wish was to be cremated and her remains taken home to Leon Lane, Cocoa Beach, Florida, the place she always held dear in her heart. A memorial service for friends and family will be held at a later dale.
