Grace M. Braden

Alvon – Much loved wife and mother, Grace M. Braden, 68, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, at Carillion Roanoke Hospital, Roanoke, VA.

Born Oct. 9, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Norville E. and Betty M. Green Allen, Sr.

Mrs. Braden attended the Liberty Baptist Church near Lewisburg; loving Jesus very much. She loved praise and worship music, especially “Amazing Grace.” Mrs. Braden was a homemaker, and loved to work with her flowers and watch the hummingbirds. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death, other than her parents, was brother, Norville C. “Buck” Allen; and sister, Marguerite Sue “Cookie” Henson.

Survivors include: her husband, Gary Braden at home; son, Gary Braden Jr. (Melissa) of Talcott; daughter, Christina Braden at home; and three grandchildren, Corey and Katelyn Braden both of White Sulphur Springs and Shayla Braden of Talcott.

Her funeral service will be conducted Friday, Sept. 19, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby McClintic officiating.

Interment will be in Mapledale Cemetery, Rt. 92, White Sulphur Springs.

Visitation was Thursday evening, Sept. 18, at the funeral home.
