GEHS golf team announces 2013 roster

The 2013 Greenbrier East Golf Team has been determined after four days of tryouts. Twenty-one young men and women participated this year. The golfers spent Monday and Tuesday evening at the Riverview Driving Range in Caldwell and Wednesday and Thursday mornings playing 18-holes at the Lewisburg Elk’s Course. The 36 hole total was used to fill ten positions. Lindsey Ray and Karee Diem played 36 holes with Lindsey Ray having an 83 the first day and her first eagle-3 on #17, par 5. She ended up tied for 7th place position with all players. Walker Dent was medalist with a 71 and 72 for a two day total of 143. Owen Wood was second with a 76 and 71 for a total of 147. Madison Erskine was third with a 76 and 79 for a total of 155. Griffin King was fourth with a 84 and 76 for a total of 160. Tyler Totten was fifth with an 83 and 78 for a total of 161. Luke Hanna was the only Freshman to qualify for the team.
The roster of all 12 players is: Tyler Totten, senior; Owen Wood, senior; Walker Dent, junior; Karee Diem, junior; Griffin King, junior; Lindsey Ray, junior; Logan Scott, junior; Cameron Sherwood, junior; Jacob White, junior; Madison Erskine, sophomore; Thomas Willis, sophomore; Luke Hanna, freshman.
It was a great week for all who participated. A special thanks to all the parents who volunteered as scorers.
