Elizabeth Ann Lephew Honaker

Alderson-Elizabeth Ann Lephew Honaker, 81, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021 at her home in Riverside Rest, following a short illness.

Born Aug. 23, 1940 in Union, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Lephew and the late Edith Dunbar Lephew Dixon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Roy Dixon; her husband of 59 years, Lacy Rowan “Red” Honaker; son, Marshall Rowan Honaker; two brothers, Gene Lephew and Woodrow Lephew; two sisters, Joyce Evans and Faith Lephew; and stepson-in-law, Cordell Hooper.

Mrs. Honaker was a retired co-owner of Honaker’s Well Drilling Company, Riverside Rest, Alderson, WV, having retired after 50 years of service to the area. She was also an Avon Representative for 20 plus years and a homemaker. Mrs. Honaker was a member of the Sinks Grove Baptist Church in Sinks Grove. She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, quilting, cooking, and puzzle books. Mrs. Honaker loved to spend time with her family and friends and will always be remembered for her love and willingness to help others.

Survivors include one son, Raymond Arthur Honaker and wife Kamia of Alderson; two daughters, Karen Mae Pinter and husband John of Spotsylvania, VA, and Mary Ann Bowyer and husband Richard Jr. of Alderson; daughter-in-law, Wendy Gadd Honaker of Marie, WV; three stepdaughters, Hattie Victoria Wickline and husband Orville of White Sulphur Springs, Carol Jean Hooper of Pensacola, FL, and Margaret Louise Ogden and husband Ora of Bainbridge, Ohio; three brothers, Johnny Dixon and wife Becky of Union, Steve Dixon and wife Connie of Sinks Grove, and Tony Dixon and wife Jackie of Sinks Grove; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 14, at the Lobban Funeral Home Chapel in Alderson, where Pastor Clark Morgan, Thomas Skaggs, Kim Thompson and her grandson, U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Lacy Gunnoe officiated. Burial followed in the New Lebanon Cemetery at Pickaway, WV. 

Friends called at the funeral home before the service on Sunday.

Serving as pallbearers were: Brian Honaker, Jonathon O’Neill, Lacy Gunnoe, Ricky Bowyer, Adam Bowyer, and Jason Lewis.
