Dennis Roy White

Lewisburg-Dennis Roy White, 60, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.

Dennis was born on Jan. 19, 1958, in White Sulphur Springs to Janetta Jane Matheny White and the late Bnrita Edgar White, Jr.

He spent many years working as a Corrections Officer for Denmar Correctional Center, and was a member of the Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church in White Sulphur Springs. Dennis was an avid Miami Dolphins fan and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Other than his father he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Gene White.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ruth Marie Patterson White of Lewisburg; his mother, Janetta Matheny White of White Sulphur Springs; brothers, Carlos White of White Sulphur Springs, Edward White (Sherry) of Bowling Green, KY and Basil White (Pam) of Littlestown, PA; his mother-in-law, Anna Waugh of Lewisburg; several nieces and nephew; great-nieces and great-nephews, and one great-great-nephew.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church in White Sulphur Springs, where Pastor Okey King and Pastor Gene Sizemore officiated. Burial with honors by the Denmar Correctional Officers followed in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg.

Visitation was Tuesday evening, Nov. 27, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs.

Pallbearers were Matthew White, Darcy White. Rodney White, Mike White, Duane Whitt, Chad Seldomridge, Brad Cox, Woody Cox and Darrell Alexander.
