Carol Sue Workman

Lewisburg – Carol Sue Workman, loving wife, Mother, Nana, and sister passed away on Friday, Apr. 7, 2023, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center from a sudden illness.
She and her family have been residents of Lewisburg for 37 years. Born Nov. 26, 1946, in Renick, she was the daughter of the late Virginia Dare Simmons Hollandsworth.
Her formative years and youth were spent in Renick, attending Renick Elementary, graduating from Frankford High School in 1964. Carol Sue’s life was a living example of a devoted Christian. Her discipleship of service continues as she was an organ donor. She was very active in her church and community. Carol Sue retired from Greenbrier County Schools with 21 years of service. As an elementary teacher, her goal was helping children discover a passion for learning. She achieved her goal in an exemplary manner, former students and parents continuing to thank her for her love and guidance.
She is survived by her husband, Delmas of 52-1/2 years; daughter, Kimberly Saunders (Christian); two very special grandchildren, Grace and Ashton Saunders; sister, Frankie Appel (Gary); nephew, Ryan Appel; and special cousin, Joe Sharp.
A celebration of Carol Sue’s life was held on Thursday, Apr. 13, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel where Pastor Ron Miller officiated. Visitation was Wednesday evening, Apr. 12, at the funeral home.
Carol Sue requested no flowers and wished expressions of sympathy be made to the Morningside Cemetery, P.O. Box 135, Renick, WV 24966.
Online guestbook may be signed at www.morganfh.net. Arrangements by Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV.
