William “Billy” Dean Stone

Ronceverte – William “Bill” Dean Stone, 71, passed away on Friday, Apr. 7, 2023, at CAMC in Charleston.
Bill was born on Nov. 21, 1951, in Ronceverte to Joseph William “Bill” Stone and Ronelda Bietz Stone.
Bill was a Presbyterian. He was among the first graduating class of Greenbrier East High School in 1969, he continued his education at WVU. Bill retired from Greenbrier Motors after 38 years of service in 2014. After retiring he worked part time delivering medicine for Fritz Pharmacy and later CVS.
He was a member of the Eastern Greenbrier Jaycees, the Masonic Lodge and the “Men of Greenbrier.” Bill was a retired member of the West Virginia Army National Guard where he served for 24 years.
Bill loved showing dogs for competition. He would spend his summers camping by the river, sharing stories, singing and playing guitar. His passion was going trout fishing at his favorite spot on the Williams River.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Sandra Walton and Sonja Stone.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Gail; his sons, Gabriel (Katie) Stone and Jason Stone; his grandchildren, Jasmine, Jara, Kaden and Myla; stepmother, Connie Stone; sister, Rosaletta Hudson; brother-in-law, Eddie Walton; and close friends, Steve Sebert, Fritz Glasser, Rob Dillon and Steve Farren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Apr. 13, at the Ronceverte Presbyterian Church where Stephen Baldwin officiated; interment with military honors followed at Riverview Cemetery.
The family received their family and friends before the services at the church.
