
The Greenbrier County Board of Education recognized the Greenbrier West High School Cross Country Team at their latest for an incredible season of growth and perseverance.
These student athletes worked through challenging heat, tough hills, and long practices – showing dedication and determination that paid off with an outstanding performance at the Regional Meet and representation at the State Meet.
Jesse Walkup made history as Greenbrier West’s first-ever regional individual champion, finishing with a strong kick to secure the win – a milestone reflecting his consistency, discipline, and competitive mindset.
Elijah Russell placed third, setting a new personal record of 19:06, an outstanding achievement in his fourth year of running cross country. Dominic Mandeville placed fifth, also earning a personal record with a time of 19:59, showing remarkable improvement.
