George E. “Pete” Hanway, 83, of Lewisburg passed away Nov. 6, 2025.
He was born Aug. 13, 1942, in Charleston, WV, the son of the late Kenneth and Grace Elston Hanway.
Pete was a general contractor.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Beverly Ann Cobbs Hanway.
Pete is survived by his daughter Klaressa Paige Justice Hanway of Beckley; sons Joshua Paul Hanway and Michael E. Hanway both of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Ashton, Connor, Aiden and Zachery; and numerous Cobbs family members.
Pete will be laid to rest beside Beverly on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Cobbs Family Cemetery in South Charleston with his brother-in-law Larry Cobbs officiating.
