The Williamsburg CEOS met September 12th at the Williamsburg Historical Museum. Members present were Cassandria Perkins, Blanche Knicely, Laura Rose, Patricia Post and Barbara Deeds. Burl Post attended as a guest.

The meeting began with Cassandria Perkins reading Psalms 27:4 and a devotional essay. 188 volunteer hours, 254 motivational hours and 23 books read was reported by members. The treasurer’s report was given by Blanche Knicely and she collected membership dues for 2018.

Blanche Knicely reported on the Greenbrier County CEOS Fall Leadership Day held Aug. 25 at the Lewisburg United Methodist Church. Laura Rose, Barbara Deeds and Blanche Knicely were attendees from this club. The members discussed plans for attending the November workshop in Rupert.

A call was made to Dorothy Hayes who has moved away. Everyone wanted to wish her a happy birthday and tell her she was missed at the meeting.

Cassandria Perkins read a letter from Shela McComsey telling the club of her recent activities. Birthday, Get Well and Sympathy cards were prepared for friends and neighbors. Nonperishable foods were collected for a local food pantry.

The lesson this month was “West Virginia Women Who Made History” presented by Cassandria Perkins. Two of the women in the lesson were Kate Carpenter and Katherine Johnson from Greenbrier County.

Cassandria Perkins was hostess for lunch. She prepared sandwiches, tossed salad, melon and fruit, and iced tea. Others provided additional dishes.

The next meeting will be on Oct. 10 at the home of Barbara Deeds.

If anyone would like information about the CEOS they may contact any club member or call the WVU Extension Office in Fairlea at 304-647-7408.
