The Williamsburg CEOS met Monday, Nov. 10 at the home of Dorothy Hayes. Members present were CK Perkins, Virginia Hanna, Dorothy Hayes, Ruth Kreft, Blanche Knicely, Loretta Shirley and Barbara Deeds. A guest at the meeting was Inez McMillion. The meeting was called to order by club president CK Perkins. A devotion on helping the poor and needy citing Psalm 5:12 was given by Virginia Hanna.

A covered dish lunch was enjoyed after a blessing asked by Dorothy Hayes.

Plans were made for attending Holiday Show and Share and the county council meeting at Rupert on Nov. 14. The club will be in charge of devotions and will be taking two of the door prizes.

In new business it was decided to give donations to the Williamsburg Fire Department and also to the Rescue Squad.

There was discussion and plans for the next meeting which will be a Christmas party with gift exchange. The party will be at noon on Dec. 9 at Shoney’s in Lewisburg.

The lesson “Staying Positive in Negative Times” was presented by Blanche Knicely. She gave pointers on how to deal with negative situations and appreciating positives in life. She suggested scheduling time to enjoy a hobby or activity each week or learn new skills to boost self-confidence.

Food items were collected to be donated to the local food pantry.

Club projects for the coming year include making heart pillows, donating food and supporting local charities.

For information on CEOS membership contact Cassandria Perkins (club president) at 304-645-2153 or visit the Greenbrier County CEOS Website: http://greenbrier.ext.wvu.edu.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the Community Educational Outreach Service.
