William Ray Freeman

Lewisburg-William Ray Freeman, 68, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea.

He was born Aug. 14, 1946, in Fayetteville, WV, the son of the late Alexander H. and Ruth West Freeman.

Mr. Freeman was of the Presbyterian faith and retired after 30 years of service with Mountaineer Gas.

Other than his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a sister, Joy Anne Martin.

Surviving are: his wife, Emma Hinkle Freeman; sons, William Michael Freeman of Ronceverte and Walter Ray Henson II and wife Jennifer of Dubuque, Iowa; grandchildren, William Tyler Freeman, Logan Alexander Freeman and Deanna Rave Henson; sister, Terry Lynn Baker and husband Daniel of Lewisburg; brother, James David Freeman and wife Susan of North Carolina; and four nephews.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m. at the Clifton Presbyterian Church in Maxwelton with Rev. Janice Fraser officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Clifton Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 200, Maxwelton, WV 24957.
