William Leo Garner

Lewisburg-William Leo Garner, 75, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018, at Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division in Charleston.

William was born Mar. 3, 1943, in Lewisburg, the son of the late Frank M. and Margaret Baker Garner.

Bill was a Navy Seal during the Vietnam War and was a two-time Purple Heart Recipient. He was a retired insurance agent, an evangelist, a life guard as well as being a Red Cross certified swimming instructor and he had been an engineer with the WV Department of Highways.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Goins and a brother, Frank Garner.

Those left to cherish Bill’s memory are his daughters, Casandra Hudson of Lewisburg, Cassie Garner of Lewisburg, Willa Justice (Patrick) of Morgantown and Jillian Garner of Lewisburg; sons, William Garner II of Lewisburg, Lionel Garner of Renick, Will Garner (Jessica Redman) of Tullohoma, TN, Frank Jarrodd Garner of Lewisburg, Joshua Garner of Lewisburg and Zachery Garner of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Cameron Hudson, Michael Hudson, Kaitlyn Hudson, Jaden Hollinghead, Cleo Garner, Jayvonn Walker, Dominic Garner, Madisyn Garner, Markes Garner, Lennox Garner, Raegan Justice, Patrick Everett Justice, Neva Redman and Sterling Garner.

A memorial service was held Sunday evening, Nov. 11, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg where Pastor Stewart Farley officiated and Zachery Garner delivered the eulogy.

Visitation was Sunday before the service at the funeral home.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg is in charge of arrangements.
