William Edward Brown

Fairlea-William Edward Brown, 64, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at home after an extended illness.

William was born Mar. 28, 1950, in Ronceverte to the late James Edward and Bertha Hedrick Brown.

William was a bridge and house construction worker having worked on the New River Gorge Bridge. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran and a member of Moose Lodge #2523.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Kay Smith Brown; sister, Patty King and brother, James Brown.

Survivors include: sons, William Craig Brown of Ronceverte, Timothy Scott Brown and companion Heather of Lewisburg; sisters, Nellie King and companion Doug Sampson of Ronceverte. Rosalie Kirk of Ronceverte, Betty King of East Hampton, NY and Cathy Brown of Ronceverte; grandchildren, McKenzie, Destiny, Nathan and Collier; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was conducted Wednesday, Aug. 27 at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte where Rev. George Clarkson officiated.

Burial followed in the Morgan Cemetery.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday before the service.
