The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces an Open House and tour of Bluestone Dam on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The tours are free to the public.

The public can see dam safety construction activities and learn about the day to day operations of Bluestone Dam. Water safety information will be available and the water safety robot, “Corey,” will make a special appearance.

During the Open House, the public can access the top of Bluestone Dam from the Route 20 Overlook Parking Area and walk across the dam.

A guided tour of the interior of the dam will begin at 1 p.m. and last approximately one hour.

No bags or purses are permitted inside the dam and no photos or videotaping is allowed inside the dam.

If you have questions, please contact Bluestone Lake at 304-466-1234. Also, visit us at http://corpslakes.usace.army.mil/visitors/projects.cfm?Id=H120310.
