The Williamsburg Museum will hold their annual Fundraising Auction on Saturday, Aug. 31 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. There will be many donated items of value for sale: furniture, televisions, books, household goods and decorative pieces. If you would like to donate something for the auction please call 304-645-2153.

As usual there will also be concession lunch items – hotdogs, cobblers and drinks. Old and new items will be auctioned off and the money raised will go to the operational needs of the Williamsburg Museum.

A special donation of two brand new coverlets were hand cross-stitched with WV themed panels and lyrics for “The West Virginia Hills” and “Country Roads” encircled with artful state birds, creatures and flowers, etc. The colors are pastels and soft browns and greens. These two full size coverlets were made and donated by Morgan Bunn to raise money for the McCoy Fort project. One has a general WV theme, the other celebrates the WV 150th birthday year of 2013 and a map of West Virginia. A minimum bid of $500 is placed on each of these items, if not sold for more at the auction, they will be put into the gift shop for sale afterwards.

Bring your family and friends and enjoy the happy festive atmosphere of this community event. The Museum is located on Williamsburg Road, Rt. 17, the road from Williamsburg to Frankford. There will be plenty of parking, some entertainment and a picnic style lunch concession.
