Asbury-Truman Lee Cook, 81, of Asbury, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019, at Raleigh General Hospital.

Born Mar. 3, 1937, at Glen Morris, he was the son of the late James R. and Alta May Adkins Cook.

Truman retired as a Coal Miner from Eastern Coal after over 30 years of service. He was a member of the UMWA.

He is survived by daughters, Betty Pack (Ronnie) of Beckley, Sherry Cook of California, Sandy Persinger of White Sulphur Springs, Susan Slade  (Phil) of Ronceverte and Valerie “Shawn” Blankenship (Rick) of Kopperston, WV; brothers, James Cook (Ellie) and Kenneth Cook (Kathy); sisters, Trilla Morgan, Georgia King (Charles), Justine Accord, Mary Woods, Carolyn Reid (Gene), Pamela Coleman (Ron) and Brenda Marshall; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and his former spouse, Mabel Cook.

Funeral service was held Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel in Lewisburg. Burial was in Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
