Timothy Andra Calhoun, 64, of White Sulphur Springs, transitioned this life on Apr. 30, 2025, in Carilion Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA after a short illness.

Tim was born Feb. 21, 1961, in the home of the Watsons in White Sulphur Springs, to Charlotte Calhoun Sweeney and the late Frank Wood, Jr.

Tim loved the Lord, and confessed his faith at a young age. He was baptized at the First Baptist Church, White Sulphur Springs.

Tim graduated from Greenbrier East High School where he excelled in all sports-football, basketball, track and was also an avid fisherman. Tim later attended Marshall University.

Tim was retired. He previously was employed at The Homestead Resort, The Greenbrier Hotel and the Mason Jar Restaurant where he served as a waiter. He also worked at Snowshoe Resort as a Conference Center Manager.

Tim loved the Dallas Cowboys; he was an enthusiastic and devoted fan – win or lose (to the point of tears)!

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Marie Calhoun; Mary and Frank Wood, Sr. and an uncle, James (Red) Wood.

He leaves to celebrate his life, his mother, Charlotte Calhoun Sweeney; stepfather, Buddy Sweeney; wife, Mary Scarlas, all of White Sulphur Springs; daughters, Shanese (Pree) Calhoun of California, Justice Calhoun of North Carolina, Lalia and Sierra Calhoun all of WSS and a son, Bryan Calhoun of Charleston, WV; sisters, Vet (Gary) Erskine, of WSS and Sandy (David) Gabris of Yorktown, VA; brothers, Charles Coles, WSS and Vincent Wood of VA; grandchildren, Envy, LaTaiah, Don, Braylon, Jon Carter, Jaevion and Kaison; uncles, Alphonso Calhoun and Steve Wood; nieces, Santana (Anthony) Kirk, Whitney Coles and Julionna Minnieweather; nephews, Andrew Jones and Zayden Jones; “Just like a mother,” Katie Dooley Green; his fur pet, Ryker, and a host of other relatives and friends.

At Tim’s request, he will be cremated. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
