The Lewis Theatre is proud to announce a unique event taking place on Sunday October 13th called “Glo ga”. The class will be taught by Raeann Carrier from Almost Heaven Yoga. What is Glo ga? It is yoga with a twist.

This form of yoga involves wearing white or neon clothing and painting yourself with glow-in-the-dark paint. The activity is done under black light to techno music. This is going to be a fun event open to anyone. The class will take place at the Lewis 3:30pm through 4:45pm. Enter through the stage door located in the parking lot in back of the Visitors’ Center. The cost is $15.00 per person and paint is provided. Come early so you can get properly painted!

“I’m hoping it’s a fun experience for everyone and people can just relax, let go, and have fun while supporting the Lewis!” said by Raeann Carrier.

All proceeds from this event are going to “Help Project the Lewis Theatre into the Future”, a fundraising campaign with Kickstarter.com. The project must raise $39,000 to supplement what the local owners have saved during six years to replace the 35mm film projector with a new digital one, required because film will no longer be produced at the year’s end.  At Kickstarter.com, pledges start at just one dollar, with no limit.  You can claim rewards for amounts of $25 and above.  The campaign is all or nothing. The Lewis has to raise the goal of 39K or they will not receive a penny from it. They are counting on the support of the community to reach their goal.

On Friday November 1st, a benefit concert performed by Lawless Brown and Possum Holler Glee Club starts right after First Friday in downtown Lewisburg.  Admission is sliding scale, from $10 to 30, or more.  All proceeds from this event will also go to The Lewis Theatre project.

For more information on the events or how you can help contribute to the campaign call 304.645.3003 or follow us on Facebook for updates and movie show times.
