Dear Editor:
Coach Mac Parks and I want to thank everyone for a great season this year for the Greenbrier East High School Golf Team. We are very humbled and honored that we are allowed to work with our young people.
We had 16 boys and 3 girls on our team. We finished 2nd in the Regional and tied for sixth place in the State Tournament in Wheeling. It was a great season! We also feel the players displayed the 9 core values of the 1st Tee Program this season. These are Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy and Judgment. These all help our young people to build good character. These do take priority over developing a young person as a good golf player. They have done a great job on these values this season and we are very proud of them!
We have really appreciated the support, encouragement, and help from all of our parents, all those from the Greenbrier, Administration from GEHS and EGMS, the Greenbrier Co. Board Office, our newspapers, Allegheny T-shirts, the Lewisburg Elk’s Club and Head Golf Pro Roy Painter, and our community. All of you were a valuable part of the success of this season!
“Our young people truly are our leaders of tomorrow!”
Thank you all for everything!
Coach Terry Koon
