Earlier this week, the County Commissioners Association of West Virginia recognized several individuals who exemplify the values of “leadership, collaboration, and public service” in West Virginia’s county government. Greenbrier County Commissioner Tammy Tincher was awarded the Commissioner of the Year Award at the ceremony.
“Chosen by the CCAWV staff and executive committee, Tammy is a tireless advocate for counties and a leader who brings people together. Her service on the NACo Board has broadened the voice of West Virginia nationally,” states the Association.
Tincher is President of the Greenbrier County Commission, and was originally elected in 2019 for a six-year term. She lives in Rainelle. Tincher serves on NACo’s Board of Directors and in several NACo leadership positions, including Vice Chair of Agriculture and Rural Development Committee; Vice Chair of Membership Committee; and Member of Healthy Counties, Arts & Culture Commission and Resilient Counties Advisory Board. She also serves on the County Commissioners Association of WV Board of Directors and Legislative Committee as well as the WV Association of Counties Board of Directors.
