The Greenbrier County Commission held its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 10.
Commissioners approved the following arts and recreation transfers: Carnegie Hall, $50,000 for 2014-2015 programming; Meadow River Trail, $915.30, partial AML reimbursement for consulting; Meadow River Trail, $4,491.25, phase III engineering ALM reimbursement; Greenbrier Valley Corral, $1,575 for 24-15 programming; Central Greenbrier Little League, $9,853.84 for 24-25 field drying tarps; Greenbrier County Tax Office, $995.27 for a missed applied payment that should have been for taxes, for a total of $67,830.66 from savings to checking.
The following items were on the agenda for consideration under new business: Change Order #1 for the Meadow River Trail Phase III, which involves a cost increase of $5,100 due to complications that arose during the project, as well as Change Order # 2 with an increased amount of $5,725. Both change ordres were approved. Next was payment of Resolution #14 for the Route 60 Sewer project (WSS TIF).A motion was made that, once the commission received the updated paperwork, the president would be allowed to sign off. This motion was approved. Additionally, payment of Resolution #4 for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Disinfection project (WSS TIF), in the amount of $160,497.75 was considered and approved.
Next on the agenda was Draw Request #10 for the Greenbrier County GigReady Broadband project. This resolution included an invoice for City Net, which covers MonPower pole permitting, with a total of $173,268.47. Of this amount, 75 percent is requested from the GigReady program, and 25 percent is requested from the TIF fund. The request was approved. An approval was then granted for the submission of the application and resolution by the Greenbrier County Office of Emergency Management for the 2025 West Virginia Homeland Security Grant Project, specifically for Mobile Command Support. Kelsey Cook’s application to fill a telecommunicator vacancy at the Greenbrier County 911 Emergency Telecommunication Center was also presented and approved.
