Support Children’s Home Society this year with a Little Red Stocking

The Children’s Home Society (CHS) of West Virginia and area businesses are currently partnering up for CHS’s annual Little Red Stocking campaign. The campaign models itself after other popular fundraising campaigns, as customers at participating businesses can request or be prompted to buy a “Little Red Stocking” for $1 to support CHS. Customers can then put their Little Red Stocking on a designated space in the business.

Last year, the Little Red Stocking campaign assisted 5,500 children and families during the holidays across West Virginia. All funds raised in a community go to that communities nearest site, so Red Stocking funds will go a long way to helping children and families here in Lewisburg, as well as services provided in the rest of Greenbrier, Summers, Monroe, and Pocahontas counties.

Local programs include an emergency child shelter in Rupert, which provides a safe living environment for up to 14 children, age 7-18, as well as an Independent Living program, a We Can Mentoring program, and a Healthy Grandfamilies program. CHS also provides families with necessities for children like winter coats, shoes, car seats, cribs, beds, school supplies, and more.

So when you’re out this Christmas season, make sure to look for CHS’s Little Red Stockings and ask to buy one for just $1. If you own an area business and would like to partner with CHS to help at risk and vulnerable children in out community, please call 304-647-3430, or email at MCarr@childhswv.org.
