Stevie Ray “Crazy Steve” Hughes, 57, of Rupert died at home on Saturday, Mar. 29, 2025.
He was born on Jan. 16, 1968, in Spencer, WV, the son of the late Steven Lewis Hughes and Annettia Pearl Mullins Hughes.
Stevie was a Mason, tree trimmer, mechanic and a carpenter. He enjoyed helping neighbors and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors are his wife of 22 years, Lawana Jean Vest Hughes; sisters, Katherine (Donald Runion of Spencer, WV, Norma Jean of Texas , Cindy (Roger) Moats of Spencer, WV and Billy Jo Chandler of Spencer; stepfather to 5 children and grandfather and great-grandfather to 30; extended family and friends.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the funeral home to defray costs.
