On Saturday, May 16, bring the whole family to Lewisburg for Share the Love Fest! From 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., celebrate unchained and independent Lewisburg by shopping, eating, and enjoying all things local. Whatever you decide to do this day, remember to take a picture of your eats, drinks, goods and/or the local street scene. In your photos, hashtag #LoveLewisburg to reminisce and share this celebrated day. This festival will show support and appreciation of all of those who keep the doors open.

“When we shop local, we help small businesses grow and pay their employees a living wage.”

Festivities will kick off at 8 a.m. with the Fruity 5K Run/Walk on Church Street in downtown Lewisburg. This is an annual fundraiser for Communities in Schools. The course includes a combination of inclines that challenge, and declines that reward. Progress is celebrated with doses of color throughout and a color blast at the finish line. This vibrant event celebrates being healthy and an active lifestyle for kids and families.

After the race, the Greenbrier Artists and other independents will showcase and sell their work at “Artisan’s Row” on Church Street. This area is anticipated to be full with photographers, illustrators, crafters, painters, sculptors, and more. Artists must supply their own signs, tables, chairs, and other display equipment. Also, set up is first come, first serve. Registration is free this year. Fill out the registration form at LoveLewisburg.org to sign up, or mail the form to LBSPY, P.O. Box 744 Lewisburg, WV 24901, or email it to info@lbspy.com.

Located near the airport, Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company invites you to “Love the Animals” from 2-4 p.m. with Greenbrier Humane Society. The Brewing Company is also hosting a Devil Anse IPA Release Party until 9 p.m. One dollar of every pint will be donated to the Greenbrier Humane Society. There will be live music, food truck and goodies. On the other end of town at Fritz’s Pharmacy, enjoy free hot dogs by Stuart’s Smokehouse from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. during Fritz’ annual customer appreciation day.

On Washington Street in downtown, kids will enjoy Face Painting by High Rocks all day at the Green Space, and adults will love the complimentary mid-day mimosas and surprise discounts at Sunflower Soul from 12 noon – 2 p.m. From 12 noon – 4 p.m., you’ll hear the sounds of aspiring and professional local musicians at the Green Space. The Greenbrier Valley Winter Music Festival “Spring Edition” is sponsoring these performances. Cari Cohen will offer Tarot card readings on Washington Street. Check out Troy’s Lemon Art Stand at the Green Space where you can get a cup of lemonade in exchange for art. Art supplies will be provided. There will also be a “sidewalk sale” for any downtown retailer that would like to sell items outside. Take advantage of $1 off Smooth Ambler Spirits and Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company at The Irish Pub and stay for evening entertainment, as Patrick O’Flaherty plays at The Irish Pub and Matt Evans performs a Share the Love concert at the Sweet Shoppe at 9 p.m.

Don’t miss Share the Love Fest. You will connect and engage with community members, as this event is all about bringing people together to share the love for the town and celebrate all things local to Lewisburg. Share the Love Lewisburg T-shirts are available at Wolf Creek Gallery in downtown Lewisburg. Sizes include men, women, and kids. The event was inspired by cities and towns across the United States who are taking it upon themselves to love local. Some cities worth mention are Asheville, NC, San Francisco, CA, and Bridgeport, CT. For more information, or to be a sponsor, message via LoveLewisburg.org/Contact or email info@lbspy.com.
