When mysterious Vianne and her child arrive in a tranquil French town in the winter of 1959, no one could have imagined the impact that she and her spirited daughter would have on the community stubbornly rooted in tradition. Within days, she opens an unusual chocolate shop, across the square from the church. Her ability to perceive her customers’ desires and satisfy them with just the right confection, coaxes the villagers to abandon themselves to temptation – just as Lent begins. (120 minutes)

Greenbrier Valley

Theatre

The State Professional Theatre of West Virginia opens a thrilling 48th season with a classic comedy by three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Thornton Wilder. From the author of Our Town comes the Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy The Skin of Our Teeth – the story of the Antrobus family and how they survive, time and time again. They may seem like an ordinary family, but George and Mary Antrobus have been married for centuries and have survived more than a few catastrophes. Along with their children and their maid, they can make it through everything, even if it is just by the skin of their teeth.

The Skin of Our Teeth, Thursday, Apr. 9, 7:30 p.m. Pay-What-You-Can Preview

The Skin of Our Teeth, Friday, Apr. 10, 7:30 p.m.
