Sarah S. Ford

 

White Sulphur Springs-Sarah S. Ford, 75, passed away Thursday, Mar. 5, 2015, at her residence on Rowan Road.

Born July 23, 1939, in Williamsburg, WV, she was a daughter of the late James Henry and Cleo Thrasher Simmons.

Sarah was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in White Sulphur Springs. Before retiring she was a cosmetologist at The Greenbrier.

Preceding her in death, other than her parents, were: sister, Katheryn Simmons; and brothers, Jimmy and Charles Henry Simmons.

Survivors include: her husband at home, Donald “Bo” Ford; daughters, Deborah Ford Morgan and companion Terence Bittinger of White Sulphur Springs, Donna Linton (Steve) of White Sulphur Springs and Sarah Katheryn “Kathy” Ford of White Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Amanda Trevino White (Chris), Leah Linton Quick (Reed) and Donald Ryan Linton, all of White Sulphur Springs; eight great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Helen Wellmon (Al) of Greensboro, NC, Ira Simmons of Williamsburg, Glen Simmons (Joan) of Lewisburg, Ann Jarrett (Hank) of Williamsburg, Barbara Hunter of Ronceverte, Mary Simmons of Williamsburg and Millie Clutter (Bob) of Trout.

Funeral services were held Monday, Mar. 9, in the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home where Rev. Verlin Butcher officiated. Interment was in Mapledale Cemetery, Rt. 92, White Sulphur Springs.

Visitation was Sunday evening, Mar. 8, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to HospiceCare, 223 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
