Alderson-Sandra Marie Schooler, 59, formerly of Simi Valley, CA, passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea, following a long illness.

Born Nov. 20, 1962, in Culver City, CA, she was the daughter of the late Donald Franklin and Marie Wallace Schooler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion of 16 years, Daniel Irvin Overholtzer in 2012.

Ms. Schooler was a former Certified Nursing Assistant, having worked at Greenbrier Manor in Fairlea. She was a June 1980 graduate of Royal High School in Simi Valley, CA, where she played on the ladies basketball team and was a United States Navy Veteran. She enjoyed planting flowers and flower gardening, watching basketball, listening to music and collecting recipes. But above all, Ms. Schooler loved to socialize, talk, and spend time with her family and friends.

Survivors include two sons, Monte H. Overholtzer of Princeton, WV, and Samuel Dixon Overholtzer of Alderson; two brothers, James Franklin Schooler and Donald Thomas Schooler both of Simi Valley, CA; two nieces, Maddie Schooler and Leanne Schooler both of Simi Valley, CA, and two nephews, Cameron Schooler and Ryan Schooler both of Simi Valley, CA.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m. at the Lobban Funeral Home Chapel in Alderson, with the Rev. Sam Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Alderson Cemetery, Alderson.

Friends may call Saturday, Feb. 12, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Lobban Funeral Home in Alderson.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CDC guidelines will be observed, with mask and social distancing encouraged.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Online condolences and memories may be shared with the Schooler family at www.lobbanfh.com.
