White Sulphur Springs-Sandra Hanna Wright, 68, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at her residence.
She was born on Apr. 20, 1949, in Miami Beach, FL, to the late Norma Hanna and Emanuel Feldman.
Sandy earned her Master’s Degree at American University. She worked as a Literature and Drama Teacher, in both private and public school systems; including the District of Columbia Public Schools for more than 20 years. She was “a traveler, not a tourist.” Her favorite places to visit were Canada, Britain and Italy. She had a kind heart as well, donating annually to Greenpeace, Wounded Warrior Project, and Southern Poverty Law Center and other organizations.
Survivors include her son, John Wright; brother, George Hanna; and beloved dachshund, Tess.
There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m. at the Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in White Sulphur Springs, with Father Jim Conyers officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to one of the listed organizations above.
