neworleans-saints-by-request

By Sara Swann

Just a few weeks after The Greenbrier Classic, the town of White Sulphur Springs is preparing to tackle a whole new tourist venue – The New Orleans Saints football team.

Chosen because of its mild summer weather, the town of White Sulphur Springs and The Greenbrier Resort will host summer football practices for the Saints from Thursday, July 24 to Wednesday, Aug. 13.

In order to prepare for the Saints’ arrival, three practice fields (two turf and one synthetic grass) and a 55,000-square-foot multi-purpose building, including meeting rooms, weight rooms, locker rooms, training and physical therapy accommodations, and kitchen and dining facilities, were built.

Twenty total practices will take place at the new facilities and all of them will be open to media and fans with no admission fee. Every person who attends will receive an admission ticket which gives them access to activities at The Greenbrier and an assortment of special discounts.

Those attending the practices are asked to park in designated areas near the city’s water plant and ride buses provided by The Greenbrier to the practice fields. The transportation fee for bus rides to the football facilities, The Greenbrier, and the parking lots will cost $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12 years old. No personal vehicles, walk-ins, or private buses will be permitted.

Backpacks, video cameras, oversized handbags, pets, outside food and beverage, and any other items deemed unacceptable by Saints security will be prohibited at the practice fields.

A concession stand with a variety of food and drinks for purchase and restrooms will be available for attendees.

The Saints football players will be signing autographs for fans after each practice if weather permits. Photographs of the training practices and/or football players are allowed; however, any and all videos are not permitted.

For fan and media alerts, updates, and schedule changes, visit www.neworleanssaints.com or follow the football team on Twitter @Saints.
