Clintonville-Rose Marie Hartsook, 76, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018.

Born Oct. 4, 1942, at Snow Hill, WV, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Donie Boone.

“Rosie” was a member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed serving the Lord and the fellowship of her church family. She was a devoted mom, wife, and grandmother. She was a loyal friend to many. Her heart was genuine and endearing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her seven brothers and six sisters.

She is survived by her faithful husband of 53 years, Lacy Hartsook. They enjoyed gardening and canning together, spending time with family and friends, and were always part of everything going on at church. Lacy and Rose had often commented to each other that they had climbed many mountains together. Upon her passing, in his ever so sincere and tender way, Lacy said, “I guess this is a mountain I’ll have to climb alone.”

The family, who will uphold her legacy and carry her on in their hearts, includes son, Roger Hartsook (Beth) of Clintonville and daughter, Darlene White (Todd) of Clintonville; and five grandchildren, Ethan Hartsook, Cheyenne Hartsook, Yvonne Sydenstricker, Jacob White and Joshua White.

The funeral service was held on Thursday, Nov. 29, at Sinking Creek Baptist Church in Clintonville. Pastors Mike Tincher and Delmas Beavers officiated.  Interment was in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.

The family received friends Wednesday evening, Nov. 28, at the church.

Pallbearers were Jacob White, Joshua White, Ethan Hartsook, Rob Ridgeway, Roger Reynolds, Roger Hinkle and Cheyenne Hartsook.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg is in charge of arrangements.
