White Sulphur Springs-Rita Pearl Pilkenton, 71, passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea after a long, courageous bathe with cancer.

Born Apr. 7, 1947, she was a daughter of the late James Ernest and Rosella Mae Hoke Morris of Glace.

She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by all.

She was retired from the Greenbrier Laundry at The Greenbrier Hotel, where she worked for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Pilkenton; an infant daughter, Joyce Lea Pilkenton; brothers, James Morris, George Morris, Robert Morris and Raymond Morris; and sisters, Nellie Carter, Alice Vance, Beulah Dunbar and Lillie Bostic.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two daughters, Brenda (Mark) Wickline and Mary Pilkenton (John Cook); also very special to her heart, her three granddaughters that meant the world to her as she meant to them, Melanie Anne, Sarah Paige and Emalee Joyce Wickline; her very special grand-dog, Samantha Grace “Sammie” whom she thought so much of; and two sisters, Loretta Profeta, Vernie Alexander and many nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services were held at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Lewisburg, where Pastor Don Trent officiated. Entombment followed in the mausoleum.
