Lewisburg-Richard Lee Jones, 85, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at the Heartland of Rainelle Nursing Center.
Born Mar. 13, 1928, at Lewisburg, he was a son of the late Jesse G. and Mary Elizabeth Ridgeway Jones.
Richard was a lifelong resident and farmer in Lewisburg and attended Calvary United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife. Florence Clark Jones, and a sister, Louise Mangum.
He is survived by: his children, Jayne L. Brumfield of Greensboro, NC, Richard Wayne Jones (Gloria) of Lewisburg and Robert Dean Jones of Charleston; three sisters, Dorothy Smith and Helen Jones, both of Charleston and Janice Welch of Plain City, OH; brother, Ralph Jones (Lummie) of Powhattan, VA; and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Rev. Emory Hanna officiating.
Burial will follow in the Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery at Richlands.
The family received friends Friday evening, Sept. 20 at the funeral home.
