Dear Editor:
Reward Greenbrier County Special Olympics athletes simply by shopping at Kroger! Go to Kroger.com/communityrewards and enroll your card. Choose Greenbrier County Special Olympics (85976) to receive rewards. Every time your card is swiped for purchases at the store, a percentage is donated back to the organization. It takes about $1,000-$2,000 to take athletes to state tournaments and Greenbrier County participates in three state tournaments each year. The organization also sponsors an annual bowling tournament that costs about $1,500. Every penny helps and the athletes appreciate the community’s support!
For more information about Greenbrier County Special Olympics activities and events, visit our website, www.greenbriercountyspecialolympics.com, and like our page on Facebook.
Greenbrier County Special Olympics is a non-profit organization that uses its funds to purchase t-shirts/uniforms, pay registration fees for state events, and other fees as needed for its athletes. Special Olympics offers children and adults with intellectual disabilities comprehensive year-round training and competition in Olympic-type sports. It is open to all people with intellectual disabilities who are at least 8 years old, regardless of the degree of their disability. Athletes interested in participating in Greenbrier County Special Olympics may contact Director John Miller, Jr. at 304-646-0579.
