Randolph N. Wilkinson, III

Sanibel, FL-Randolph N. “Randy” Wilkinson, III, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at home.

Randolph Wilkinson obitHe was born Dec. 12, 1935, in Huntington, the son of Marjory and Randolph N. Wilkinson, Jr.

A graduate of Yale University and MIT, Randy worked in research and product development for Procter and Gamble from 1958 until his retirement in 1996 as a Director.

As a board member of the Cincinnati Natural History Museum, he was President of the Children’s Museum, facilitating its move to the Museum Center at Union Terminal in Cincinnati. More recently, Randy served as chair of the classical music committee at BIG ARTS on Sanibel as well as the BIG ARTS classical music scholarship committee. He had many more accolades during his career.

Survivors include: his beloved wife of 53 years, Elizabeth “Penny” Summer Wilkinson; son, Brad Wilkinson; two daughters, Katie Heekin (Shane) and Sarah Wilkinson, both of Cincinnati, OH; sister, Jane W. Spicer and niece Jenny Front, both of Lewisburg; and three grandchildren, Colin, Luke and Ryan Heekin of Cincinnati.

There will be a private memorial service in the future.

Any memorial gifts may be made to BIG ARTS on Sanibel Island, 900 Dunlop Road, Sanibel, FL 33957 or to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, 1241 Elm Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202.

Mullins Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.
