Rupert-Randall “Steve” Stephen Collins, 70, entered into his eternal home with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021 following an extended illness.

Steve was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend to many.

Born May 4, 1951 in Tazewell, VA; he was the son of the late Pritchard Pat Collins and Irene Beavers Collins Shupe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Pritchard Farley Collins.

Steve studied culinary arts under the direction of The Greenbrier Hotel and was Chef at many restaurants in both West Virginia and Virginia over the years. He was of the Baptist faith and in his free time loved being in the outdoors. When not working, he could usually be found with a fishing pole in his hand, looking for ginseng or turkey hunting. He also coached little league baseball and participated in and won many fly casting competitions.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Brenda R. Collins of Rupert; children, Mindy R. Wamsley (Sam) of Asbury, and Clint S. Collins (Nikki) of Rupert; grandchildren, AJ Wamsley (Kendra), Marie Wamsley (Pedie), Savannah Gwinn, Oryan Collins, and Hunter Wamsley; sisters, Carol Schroeder (Ken) of Gainsville, VA, and Donna Stokes (Ron) of Rupert; sister-in-law, Debra Osborne of Rupert; and many cousins, niece and nephews, and lifetime friends.

As per his wishes, Steve will be cremated and a private service by the family will be held at a later date.

Wallace & Wallace of Rainelle are in charge of arrangements.
