Pocahontas County Opera House welcomes country music star Glen Shelton

The Pocahontas County Opera House is thrilled to announce an unforgettable evening with the acclaimed country music sensation, Glen Shelton, set to take the stage on Apr. 19, at 7 p.m. Shelton, hailing from Central Virginia, has garnered a devoted following with his authentic blend of mainstream and traditional country melodies. His performances are celebrated for their energetic, captivating, and family-friendly nature, ensuring an experience that resonates with audience members of all ages.

In the past year, Shelton has made significant strides in his career, including signing with the prestigious Jordash Records based in Nashville, TN. His latest singles, “Writing You a Love Song” and “I’m All In,” have achieved remarkable success on various music charts, cementing his reputation as a rising star in the country music industry. “I’m All In” has rapidly ascended the MusicRow charts, securing a spot in the top 60 within its initial four weeks. By August 2023, the track had soared to #51 on MusicRow, #35 on New Music Weekly Country Radio, and #26 on New Music Weekly Country Digital. The song continues to be a favorite on popular platforms like iHeart Radio, showcasing Shelton’s widespread appeal.

Shelton’s illustrious career includes performances alongside country music legends such as Randy Travis, Joe Nichols, and Darryl Worley. Most recently, he has shared the stage with David Lee Murphy, who is slated for induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, further highlighting Shelton’s esteemed position within the industry.

Nestled in the heart of historic Marlinton, the Pocahontas County Opera House offers an intimate, 250-seat venue that is both family-friendly and accessible to individuals with disabilities. Tickets are available for a $10 donation, with complimentary entry for individuals aged 17 and under, ensuring the event’s accessibility to families and fostering youth engagement in the arts. Tickets can be acquired through the Opera House’s official website, at the 4th Avenue Gallery in Marlinton, or at the venue on the day of the event.

The Opera House Performance Series is generously supported by grants from the West Virginia Division of Culture and History and the West Virginia Commission on the Arts. Further backing is provided by Pocahontas County Dramas, Fairs and Festivals, and the Pocahontas County Convention and Visitors Bureau, underscoring the community’s enduring commitment to preserving and promoting local cultural heritage.
