Pasture raised chicken at Rainbow Farm in beautiful Sandstone.

From 10 a.m. to noon this Saturday, Tim Peregoy of Azimuth Organics will be the featured chef at the Lewisburg Farmer’s Market Café.

He has clearly taken stock of the bounty available at the market, and created a delicious menu that will delight every palette. The sandwich is a local pasture raised chicken salad with basil pesto, roasted garlic, and caramelized onions and sweet peppers with a side of either cuke salad or potato salad for $4. The vegetarian option is a local organic greens plate with local coleslaw, potato salad, and egg salad bedded on organic greens for $4. You may add a scoop of chicken salad to the entree for a total of $5. The local free-range chicken is provided by Rainbow Farm, local eggs by Glen Morgan, and the garlic, herbs, cabbage, potatoes, onions, greens, and sweet peppers by Azimuth Organics.

Tomatoes, hot peppers, squashes, potatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, garlic, parsley, and other herbs, greens and summer salad mix will be for sale this weekend from several vendors from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. LFM is located in the parking lot between the Post Office and the Lewisburg United Methodist Church where some weeks. LFM accepts SNAP, EBT, Senior Coupons and credit cards. In addition to the bounty mentioned above, vendors offer body care products, chair massage, breads, baked goods, Persian Food, sweets, chicken, pork, beef, lamb, bedding plants, maple syrup, spice blends and crafts.

The members of the Lewisburg Farmers Market believe a single farmers market location in Lewisburg would benefit customers, vendors, and the community. We are willing to do our part, and have been working to create that outcome for several years.
