New River Community and Technical College will begin registering new and re-admitted students for spring semester classes on Monday, Nov. 18. Fully admitted students (those who have required all requirements to complete their admissions files) can now register by making an appointment with the admissions office at the campus they plan to attend.

New or re-admitted students planning to attend in the spring should first submit their application for admission. They should also submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) immediately after applying for admission by visiting http://www.fafsa.ed.gov, selecting the 2013-14 school year, using their 2012 tax information and using New River’s school code 039603. FAFSAs should be submitted by Nov. 28 to ensure that if the student is eligible, aid is awarded before the beginning of the semester. A student must be fully admitted (admission file is complete) in order for financial aid or loans to be processed and awarded.

Conditionally admitted students (those whose admission files are not complete) will be notified by postcard of registration sessions beginning in December. There also will be announcements on New River’s Facebook page and website.

New students can apply online at www.newriver.edu by clicking on the “apply now” tab. There is a choice to apply online (registration required through CFWV.com) or to choose download application for admission (PDF) that is fillable and may be submitted online by e-mail. This form may also be printed and mailed or taken to the Office of Admissions on the campus they plan to attend.

Spring semester classes will begin on Jan. 13; Jan. 3 is the last day registrations will be accepted. Current students are encouraged to register early with their faculty advisor in order to ensure they get the classes they need to complete their degree or certificate program.

New River’s Office of Admissions serves students from the Beckley Campus, 167 Dye Drive, Beckley, WV 25801, 304-929-5476; Greenbrier Valley Campus, 101 Church Street, Lewisburg, WV, 24901, 304-647-6586; Mercer County Campus, 1397 Stafford Drive, Princeton, WV 24740, (304) 818-2012; Nicholas County Campus, 6101 Webster Road, Summersville, WV 26651, 304-883-2437; and the Advanced Technology Center, 527 Odd Road, Ghent, WV 25843, 304-929-3315, or toll free 1-866-349-3739.

New River Community and Technical College is an open-door admissions institution, which means that the college is committed to providing an educational opportunity to all persons regardless of educational background or preparation.

New River has maintained accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since 2005. For more information about accreditation, call 800-621-7440, or visit www.ncahlc.org. New River is an equal opportunity institution.
