The WV Department of Natural Resources recently completed a new boat launch along the Meadow River just outside Charmco. Located in the Meadow River Valley in the roadside park on Route 60, the brand new boat launch provides easy access to the beautiful Meadow River.

“This project was a real team effort,” explains Senator Stephen Baldwin. “Matt Ford and the Meadow River Valley Association showed tremendous persistence for over three years to ensure this was completed. It was my pleasure to help get it done. There are some details yet to be completed such as new signage, but it’s ready to roll. This is an excellent access point on a beautiful river. Easy access, nice setup, and great scenery. Local citizens will love it, and it will be a great tourist attraction. Matt began this project with Delegate Ambler several years ago, and I pledged to see it through. Huge thanks to Matt, DNR, MRVA, Delegate Ambler, and everyone who made it possible!”

A second new access point in Hines is also in the works as part of this initiative. It remains in the design phase and details will be released as they become available.
